Meet Sean Knudsen

I give my since passed, Malinois Cami a lot of credit for bringing to light my passion for dog training. She was the runt of the litter, and very neurotic. By the time she was three months old, she had already been through three homes because no one could handle her. But when she came to me, an active-duty Army instructor, she immediately attached herself to me. If I stepped outside without her, she would hurl her entire body against the door in distress. I took her to work with me every day at the Army’s leadership academy, and we spent all my breaks training together. We also joined a personal protection training club, where she truly thrived.

Despite her small size and being one of only two female competitors, Cami defied the odds when we entered the national championships for protection sports.

On paper, we were the underdogs—we were ranked last, mostly because we only entered the toughest trials, often competing alone.

But when it came time to face the competition, Cami was the only dog to successfully complete all the events. She ended up winning the national championship, finishing 50 points ahead of the second-place team. What made her special was her relentless spirit—no matter how many times we repeated an exercise, she never quit. Cami was always a bit of a wild one, but that drive and dedication made her truly exceptional.

Since then, over the last 20 years I’ve had the privilege of working with some of the world’s top dog trainers,

Mastering scent work, protection, obedience, and service dog training. Over the years, I’ve trained thousands of dogs, from obedience to service dogs, including for A-list celebrities, billionaires, and influencers with millions of followers. Yet, my most rewarding experience has been witnessing the profound impact service dogs have on people’s lives—watching children with disabilities gain independence or receiving heartfelt letters from terminally ill clients, expressing how much their dogs meant to them. I feel honored by the trust families place in me to train their beloved pets. There's nothing more fulfilling than seeing a dog's confidence grow, and the joy on owners’ faces when they see that their dog, now fully trained, is not only obedient but even more fun, relaxed, and happy.

For as long as I can remember, my family has always had dogs. The first time I was exposed to dog training was when my dad started training one of our family dogs. He became so passionate about it. When he started training full time a few years later, I thought spending all day with animals would be a lot of fun. I began helping out after school, feeding, playing with, and learning to train his clients' dogs by his side. I quickly fell in love with the process; the challenge and reward of helping dogs learn became incredibly fulfilling for me. Before long, I was training dogs on my own whenever I had free time. One of my favorite experiences is running into old clients who express their gratitude and excitement over how well their dog now behaves.
